bye bye ugly gm wheel..
Discussion
I used the correct grant hub and a grant-momo adapter. Wheel is probably 1.5" smaller in diameter and sits about 1.5" further away from the driver than the oem wheel. Feels so good tossing the car around corners.. wish i had made this mod earlier. I also removed both airbags and the airbag sensors and computer for a weight savings of around 35 pounds.
Thanks Chris,
I cross referenced Grant part numbers and found that Grant p/n 470-4509 is for the following vehicles:
1986-90 I-Mark, Impulse
1992-94 Trooper II
1988-95 Rodeo, Amigo, Pickup

Would that be it?? (plus the grant to momo adaptor of course)
Regards,
Erik

Hi...I'll be buying the Grand 4509/4009 to do the mod. Can someone describe what modificiations are need on the hub to make it fit? I see a copper metal pin on top of the shaft in the above pictures, is that something that needs to be fabricated in order make the turn signals cancel?
i'll try and post a pic up later.. but what i did was just carve out 2 slots in the factor turn signal "collar" so that the grant hub just slides right into it. Works perfect and very simple too. Again.. i really want to emphasize what and amazing difference the new wheel makes on the car. Well worth $250 in parts and the couple of hours it took to install. The only thing to add is that if you have an airbag equipped car you will need to buy the horn contact. Its just a spring loaded pinswitch that makes contact with a ring on the grant hub. I had to improvise late on a sunday afternoon and the end result isnt pretty.
