Hey kids...Today is my lucky day. Giving my son his first ride in Dads Lotus....turned the corner and passed a Honda..long straightaway ahead...stepped on it...dark colored car comming the other way. State Police......... I pulled over and gave him time to turn around....With a smile on his face, he clocked me at 131mph...I told him I was just giving my son, just back from Portland Or. a little taste of Lotus fun. He checked my license and came back , handed my paperwork back, and asked how fast this thing would go. 165-170 mph, I answered. I'll get ya next time, he said and let me go.
Today is my lucky day
Sorry to bore you guys with my story, but I had to tell somebody...My wife is still bitching at me..she just doesn't get it.

It's a wonderful and rare occasion these days to run across a cop with a sense of humour who doesn't feel the need to be a hard ass in every situation. I've met a couple since I've had my Esprit. :

And they do throw the book at you. Not much getting by in NJ. Here and there but not too many places. In fact, the town next to me now has a few Dodge Durangos, unmarked, with patrolmen in them waiting for you to do 5MPH over.

Jersey scares the s_ _ _ t out of me in the family Volvo...Jersy turnpike with all those easy pass lanes, toll booths, correct change only lanes. How you guys drive your Loti down there I'll never know. A trip to Newark airport from upstate New York { the sticks} requires a week recovery time. Don't get me started on Jersy cops!!!!!
