Yardelli, can't see the pic, just a red x. Try again. Also tell us more about your car b/c I have an 87 HCI G-type; always interested in their longevity. Any problems w/yours? Pics of mine are posted in yahoogroups.com, louisiana lotus limited assoc. ("lalla"), pictures section.

OK - apologies - Fotango is playing up?!
Had my car for 11 years now......Still only covered 54K from new. I know the full history of the car and owners.....The guy who had it from new owned his own company but never actuated the turbo when driving as he did not like driving fast?!?!? Hence my main problem when I first had the car was a sticking wastegate that was fortunatly spotted without doing any damage..... Fixed myself by disembling and throughly cleaning the unit with a drill and emery cloth! A new rubber diaphram cures permantly also though £75 is alot for a littlepiece of rubber! Its had a new water pump and radiator together with the necessary cam-belts and apart from normal servicing....thats it in 11 years! Having said that its pampered more than the wife and has only seen rain twice - once being caught in a storm on the way back from a Hethel visit and the other when on honeymoon in the new forest......Its been off the road now for three years (SORN) duet to marriage/family/new house etc etc but I fortunatley live in the middle of a field so have a nice private 1/2 mile lane before the public road to 'test' on occasion!
Love it to bits - my mate has an Essex which is similarly Mint and we've both kept hold of the cars this long.....Its nice only using on Summer sundays as it still feels like a real occasion when you take it out - bit like the first day you bought it!
Having said that I'm tempted by the lure of the prancing horse but would only change to go one step up the ladder so to speak - a Countach would be the ultimate 'wedge' for me!.......soon.....

Picture works fine for me. Looks nice. So is the H.C. actually any faster than your mate's Essex? Or are they near identical as I guess they should be.

Personally a ferrari is a step down in terms of coolness. I think they're a bit crass. A giugaro Esprit is the height of cool. A countach is also cool but I think you'll find it a bit of a dog to drive after the esprit. They are very heavy and agricultural to drive. Gearbox and pedals etc. very heavy but of course the engine is fabulous.

I agree about the Esprit being the more fun car to drive. I am often the only Esprit in a run of Ferraris (I do love them too) on club drives and the Esprit always gets the "wow's". After all, there are not exactly many of them and only a few people recognize it right off. I kinda like that... it always gets back to Basic Instinct (as mine is a 88') or Pretty Woman... If you are going to "trade out" and still stay exotic... I'd say you'd have to go for a Bugatti EB-110 or something!

Drive topless!!!

Thanks for the comments guys - will try to post some more detailed pics soon. My mate has Essex No.17 which has been featured in many Mags and was the car used by AutoArt to create their model. The Giugiaro Esprit developed each year so my HC does feel faster -similar HP but the Torque is up and the brakes are far superior, as is the suspension set-up - though I do prefer the early Turbo suspension arrangement asthetically - looks much lower with negative camber.
Not sure if an EB110 is quite within my price range (!)but the Countach for me is the ultimate Supercar with current prices at the lowest and more 'affordable' than others.... Having said that the Esprit still manages to make me smile and still looks truely exotic.
