I'm doing the 2002 rear panel conversion and I have seen one site <
www.unity1.co.uk/Lotus/Project/Lights/rearlightsmod.htm > that does it
BUT I would like to see some pictures of a 2002+ without it's rear panel, see
what the factory did. How much of the rear lips needs to be removed? I would
like as many pictures of the rear panel without the panel and close-ups of the
cut outs and trimmings, if possible. I'm just curious what Lotus did at the
factory. I also have checked the UK Esprit Yahoo group and didn't get a straight
answer there. Also are there any good sites on the conversion??

I'd be surprised if Lotus actually cut up cars to make the new panel fit, but maybe. That's what your suggesting, right?

I fitted one to mine. I removed the lip on the bottom of the panel rather than cut the body and you will need the 2 x later rain ducts that sit behind the panel also. Then there is a bit of cutting so that the lights will sit right in and you will also need to cut where the round lotus badge sits as this will push the panel out if not.
