'97 Esprit V8 issues?

I've been looking and finally found a V8 Esprit that is priced right and arranged the financing. My question is this: Since '97 was the first year of the V8 are there any major mechanical issues that plague this year or should these have all been corrected by the prior owners by now? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated!

All new first year models, especially Lotus, are always more problematic. But after five years, if I was the previous owner I would certainly have gotten any problems fixed by now. Hopefully your previous owner did too. There is a 1999 with 6,700 miles on e-bay for $ 52,600 if that is in your budget. The 1998 and newer have a new interior. Good luck.

Check the compression I've had 3 V8's in the last 5 years 2 of them had low compression in the left bank of the V8.one with 50,000 miles on the clock the other 12,000 miles....common problem that Lotus try to keep quiet about
