I am looking to upgrade the ECU in my 00 Esprit V8. What is the best quality, best made ECU on the market and of course most increase in HP. Price is not an issue.

Best quality? Do you mean you want a complete replacement non-lotus unit or a re-mapped unit to allow more boost and correct fuelling?

Depending on how deep your pockets are, and how soon you want to rebuild the gearbox due to increased load, there are a number of options. Take a look at ECU's and performance kits at www.pukesprit.de ... for 3999 euros there is a kit with high-flow cats, modded turbos, upgraded ECU, air filters, red-race ECU and it even comes with a fault code reader ...

Sure a non Lotus factory product will be fine. What I mean by quality is a unit that will safely align fuel parameters at the same time giving me the max boost or Hp and torque that will bump up Hp maybe by 100. In short some unit that has been proven. I know any increase in Hp will add more stress to engine. The high cats and exhaust I already have in mind.

I wish I could afford Lambo. The ECU you are refering to is it the Lotus blue code? If it is, I understand it's primarly for torque in the upper gears, does it raise HP and also does it remove the top speed limiter.

The sport 350 ECU re-maps the torque curve in lower gears (2nd, 3rd and 4th), 5th gear remains the same.

Peak power remains the same at 350hp.
