Has anyone ever replaced the window up/down switch on their esprit? The dealer sold one to me (GM part) a few months ago for $20...seemed reasonable to me. However the next day I ordered a second one and the price jumped up to $150! Did this part become rare all of a sudden, or am I being taken? Anyone know the true price?

Thanks, GREG

I use to have a 1988. The passenger window would not work. The new motor cost $ 251.42 in January of 2001.

Mike, thanks for the info...I'm sure at some point I'll have to replace the motor too. However the part I replaced is the plastic rocker switch that rolls the window up and down. By the way, have you gotten used to the sound of the new muffler? Like you I drive my Esprit regularly and am afraid to replace the muffler. I don't care for the wimpy stock sound but I don't like the sound that these teenagers get from their Jap imports either.

My bad.

I am use to the new muffler already.
I do highly recommend it. It now sounds like an exotic, finally. Everybody thought it had an 8 or 12 cylinder engine to begin with, so now they really think it! I could not believe how big and heavy the stock
one was when it was taken out.

I put an SJ Sports Car Sport system on my SE and removed the Cat. To really hear the exhaust clearly you have to lower the window. It sounds like an exotic when its working.
Other than that you can cruise and its really quite quiet unless you are pushing hard but, it never becomes too noisy and intrusive in the cabin.

The individual switch is $20. Unless he is selling you something like the drivers switch panel plate for a SE loaded with the lighter.
Also check out this exhaust. It's the one Skerd was taking about.

Thanks Calvin, I had a feeling the dealer was trying to put one over on me. I know I can always count on you for timely and accurate information.
