In the USA 85 was the last model year with carbs.
86-88 had Bosch K Jetronic mechanical injection. I think thats what they were called. In other markets they continued to use carbs. In the USA 89 changed to Delco EFI with no intercooler, all 4 cyl. after 89.5 had Delco EFI with Chargecoolers. These changes are for USA federal cars as I have heard of carbs on later models in the UK and Europe.
