V8 Timing Belt Replacement
Discussion
I have a 2001 V8 with just over 18K miles. I'm planning to have the timing belt replaced in the next few months. However, I've heard rumors that Lotus will cover some of the costs. Here are my questions...
1. What will they cover? Just the belt? How about labor?
2. Do I need to contact someone at LCUSA to get authorization first? I read somewhere that you need to contact them first before scheduling the service.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Steve

OK. I think I found my answer. I contacted Andy Plant at LCUSA. He provided the following information for my '01 V8:
- Lotus will cover the cost of one timing belt replacement at 36K miles or 4 1/2 years (whichever comes first). This includes parts and labor. The work must be completed by an authorized Lotus service center.
- Lotus will also cover timing belt adjustments for up to 8 years. This should be completed every 12K miles or 18 months.
