Quick steering question

I know track rod ends have been done before, but I'm a little puzzled.
Our friends at SJ Sportscars list the same part number for S1/2 cars as S3 Esprits. Yet the racks are different and the hub assemblies too, as I understand it.
So is it just coincidence that the same TRE fits them all, or is there some cockup? I'm not going to call SJ now, it's midnight...
