do i really need a hub adapter for a momo wheel???

so far i have the wheel and the momo->grant adapter but the grant adapter is proving tough to find. I'm looking at the wheel with the airbag removed and it seems that I can just cut out the center and bolt or weld it right to the momo->grant adapter. I really dont see why this shouldnt work.. any suggestions before I hack away?? I can do this tomorrow or not for months so I really dont want to wait for the stupid grant part.

...it took 3 days for pepboys to get the grand hub to me. Grand also sells the adaptor rings for momo bolt patterns, usually in stock. Hell, I think I still have one of the hubs in my storage building if you want one.

I'd just buy the hub and adaptor rather than trying to fab up a new piece.

I have the Lotus adapter for the Momo wheel... and am willing to sell it. I bought it from another group member... then Jim made the adapters for the Raid airbag wheel... So I never used it.
