New Magazine - Auto Aficionado
Discussion
Hi,
Today I received Volume 1, Number 1 of a new car magazine - Auto Aficionado - The journal for Fine Automobile Collectors and Enthusiasts. This was in response to an invitation I received some 3 mos. back for a complimentary introductory issue. Their website is still offering a complimentary introductory issue.
I have to say I am fairly impressed. Articles and abundant pics on Ralph Lauren's collection, Bently GT heritage, Mercedes Benz Road Racers of the post war years, a nice article on the Elise, one on the new Boxster and the Detroit Int'l. Auto Show. It is a rigid cover magazine with fine paper and quality photos. Staff include Peter Brock, Graham Gauld, Pete Lyons and others.
It will be published bi-monthly and a subscription is $39.95 in the US, more elsewhere. I sent my subscription off today. Check them out at: www.autoaficionado.net or call at (800)362-3686. As always, I have no financial interest whatever.
I would recommend this periodical to any true enthusiast, or even those collectors of Auto mags. Here's a chance to start a collection from the beginning.

bi-monthly sucks but when my Sports Car Internationl comes it's a great day! Anyway...
there seem to be a lot of new glossy auto mags coming out lately and they've all been really thin on content but high on ink ...but let's hope this one is different.
Hi,
I agree about the bi-monthly aspect. Also that SCI is great, been a subscriber for 8 years. This mag has the same flavor, though with only the first issue, I'll need to reserve final judgement for a while.
