Hi all (again)...

Can anybody tell me, which rubber/metal buffer washer goes on top of the engine mount and which one goes below (There is a flat one, and a recessed one). I have searched the service notes but cant find any reference.
car is an 84 turbo.

cheers Steve

Hi,

The flat washer (Buffer Washer-Upper, Lotus Part# A085E6011F) goes on top of the mount. The one with the recess (Buffer Washer-Lower, Lotus Part# A085E6010F)goes underneath the mount. If you look at the plate #40.01A in the parts manual, it is clearly shown (Twice actually...).

Steve,

Note that the mounts are color coded. Blue goes on the right side and red (pink) goes on the left (exhaust) side.

The recess in the lower washer faces up toward the bottom of the resilient mount. Trial fit them together and you will see that the recess is sized to just fit the diameter of the bottom side of the mount.

Torque Loadings:
Engine Mounting Legs to Rubber mounts (large vertical bolt)
40 - 45 lbs-ft / 5.53 - 6.22 kg-m / 54.2 - 61.01 N-m

Engine Mounting Legs to Engine
14 - 15 lbs-ft / 1.94 - 2.07 kg-m / 19.0 - 20.3 N-m
Loctite Threadlocker 242 (blue / medium strength)

Rubber Resilient Mounts to Chassis
25 lbs-ft / 3.46 kg-m / 33.9 N-m
