It is good to get it back isnt it, when i had a B service carried out with cam belt, wheel bearing, waterpump & loads of other bits... cost abit but it felt so different. Esprit Engineering did the work at £25 per hour, the bill would have more than doubled if the dealer had got their mitts on it. i'm dieing to ask... roughly how much???

Sorry mate been away for a bit, 9k for liners! 3k is ok for all the work done, still the cost of a used ford focus though! Are you upgrading your brakes? Has your S4 got the toyota or the Brembos? Mine the toyota & they are rollocks... even with 'greenstuff' pads you still got to be looking a mile up the road to stop. Definately on the list of jobs, along with the braided clutch hose, has that made a difference to yours?

Sorry for all he questions!

3k seems reasonable to me for the work carried out & from a main delaer. I have just had PNM re-condition and refit a right hand side fuel tank, cam belt changed, cam housings re-sealed, two new rear discs and an oxygen sensor - not far short of 2.5k. It is booked in for an A service at Christopher Neil this Friday and I have just replaced all the headlamps and cat replacement pipe so the money is still being spent at quite a rate. It was good to get the car back though - pity they didn't manage to sort out my long standing code 26 problem.

gradually went but whilst it was on the ramps doing brakes (which went great- 4hrs start to finish) i spotted that the lock nut on the push rod at the slave end had not been locked off and the set nut had spun loose.so should be easy fix. i didnt touch it coz straton motors looking at it friday and dont want to give them any excuse to blame me for tinkering.

oh mate.. sounds like you got a grumpy grouchy car there, shes waiting for the summer when all will be fine, stick with it mate, if it was easy owning one of these things everyone would have one.

But i do love the look of an Esprit on the back of a low loader, looks like a Scud missile launcher doesnt it....

You should be through the worst of it.

Keep a positive outlook. It's a nice ride when it is all sorted. Sort of suprised that with a dealer repair that the clutch was not right. It is just a bump in the road. The car will be fine.
