After having a small chat with a fellow member on the forum here, it made me realise that I haven't contributed anything for ages, so I got inspired and did something today. Its not much but hey what the heck!!

So I got busy replacing the water overflow hoses feeding into the two tanks today. Been a job I have been meaning to do for ages but just been overlooked. I was extremely embarrassed pulling them off the male fittings as they just broke off, couldn't believe how brittle they were! I think these 15 yr old hoses had seen better days. I wasn't sure if my hands could reach right under the side where the side hose threads through the gap, so I just tied some string on the old hose and thread through the new stuff. I managed to get the same mm fuel line pressure hose in the two sizes from the local Repco (motor DIY store). The side panel above the fuel tanks is a pain to get in and out but quite do able with patience. Turned out I could reach both hands touching down there to guide the hose through the gap, so no need for the string.

Its a bit hard to see but the new hoses with stainless steel ties stand out vs the discoloured mangled ones with rusty fittings on the right side.

The result of course looks great, just tidies up the engine bay that little bit more.
