Hi there,
Looking for some help, I have recently become a proud owner of a 1990 SE Turbo. As with many other owners appear to have, my good old check engine light does a merry dance from time to time, and also the engine sometimes cuts out when idleing. I have got hold of the FREESCAN software but now i need the cable to connect it to my car. Is there anyone out there who could make me one up or point me in the direction of how to get one. I have seen all the diagrams about making one up, but i'm a little aprenhensive about doing this myself, any help would be appreciated.

Check out the Lotus esprit world web site www.lotusespritworld.co.uk and get a hold of Andy Whittaker the creator of Freescan. I think he can be reached at the site or they can steer you in the right directions

I have a 91 SE and I recently got a cable from a guy by the name of Andrew Mattei in Texas. A real nice guy, and his cable worked fine with FreeScan. Try his email. amattei@mindspring.com Or visit his web site: www.akmcables.com/

I have never tried OBD-II HW because Andy W says that his FreeScan SW is not OBD-II compliant. So, I presume that you need the correct Lotus cable. Andy has diagrams of the cable on his web sit, but doesn't sell them any more. I suggest you try www.akmcables.com. Expect to pay about $75+ delivered (in the USA), which is a bargain in my book.
