ecu upgrade for v8 tt?
Discussion
I've had an upgrade on my 98 to (euro) sport 350 spec, sometimes also referred to as the "hi-torque" upgrade.
Headline bhp and torque figures are unchanged, but this ecu allows full torque in all gears except first, whereas the stock v8 ecu will limit the torque in all but fifth gear.
Had this done at the factory three years ago - done 30k miles so far with the new ecu. No CEL issues or problems related to the upgrade. Would recommend this 100%.

Hi Rob,
I recently upgraded the ECM in my 2000 V8 to the High-Torque code offered in the US. At least from the 2000MY forward, the ECM code allows full boost, ie torque, in gears 3rd/4th/5th, but limits in 1st/2nd. So it seems there's a few variations of ECM coding about. In any case, the High-Torque ECM upgrade is well worth doing.
