Do you ever feel like they're trying to wear you down .....

Because the Lotus is off the road with it's clutch 'issues' I've had to drive the Scooby (hard life isn't it ).

Anyway, pulled up at work today and she let go in the most spectacular fashion. You couldn't see anything for steam. It was pumping out of every crack in the bonnet, from the wheel arches, the gap in between the doors, everywhere!!!

The way my luck's been running recently, I've been expecting the Scooby to blow on me anyway.

Somewhat timmidly I opened the bonnet to find she'd dumped coolant all over the place.

Luckily it was just the top rad hose that had split. After a ferry and taxi journey to my localish Subaru dealer i returned clutching a new hose which is all fitted and all us well again.

If only it was so easy with the Esprit ......

I just replaced that top hose (between the head and the water pump) on the Esprit. As in most Esprit wrenching, it was a PITA.

A famous Latin quote:
Illigitimi Non-Carborundum
or Don't let the bastards wear you down.

Sorry to hear about your woes. It's usually worth it in the end...

Hello Dave

Nah it's alright. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the Lotus, least I can see how I'm gonna get it out and as you say it'll be worth it in the end. The clutch has been detracting a bit from my enjoyment of the car, where on entry into a corner you want to already be in 2nd with both hands on the steering wheel ready to glide her in and give her just a little bit too much on the way out, whereas as she is I'm all too often still fumbling with the stick part way round

It's prolly gonna take me 2/3 weeks to sort my baby out, during which time I'll have to 'rough it'

But the look of sheer horror on my face as this torrent of smoke was pumping out of every crevice of the Scooby was a real picture

Why do you think I kept my Scoob? (Apart from the obvious reason of no-one else wanting it. )

Roughing it isn't too bad, all things considered...
