I havent used one, but Marcus sells some upgraded clutch kits
http://freudhoefer.de/lotus/esprit
JAE may also have upgraded clutches
www.jae.com
though if you are not tracking your car, the standard clutch should work fine for you

Hi Geo,
I personally do very much like our +25% clutch for the Esprit Turbo, SE, S4 and GT3 applications on stock or (slightly) uprated engines.

Look: http://freudhoefer.de/lotus/esprit/products/clutch/index.htm

This one is really very good quality (IMHO better than the stock one) and will last a much longer time than the OEM one. And its less expensive ;o)

Cheers

What do you think of the +35% one then Marcus, is it that much better again? If and when I need a new clutch I will go for the +35% one. Cuious that Dermot opted for the +25% one when he has had such a significant hike in engine performance and could have opted for the +35%. Is there something I should read into that?

Is there anything available that is lightweight. The OE pressure plate is a tank!

Hi Dom,
Yes you may read something into that ;o)
The +25% one most likely is up to the task (even for a modded engine).

Hmm.. so I wasted my money on the +35% clutch? Do you accept trades?

Huchhhhhhh ... what a question ...

Back to the topic: "whats the best clutch ?"

The best one is the +35% one, of course ! You got the best !

.... pehhhh, that was close.

Hi Marcus.. I too am looking for a decent clutch package. Now, if I want to order the best, and of course lightest available, which one would be the ticket. I want light, light, light, but with enough torque to satisfy a well modified S3T.

Are there any other clutch options, like multiplate, available?

thanks Jan

Hmmm... not so re-assuring, flip-flopping like that!

Well if the +25% is the same design as the +35%, should be no problem. Out of curiousity, which one is closer to the clamping force of the S4s clutch?

What do you recomend for a S4s that's dynoed at 361bhp (in great part thanks to you )?

I'm in need of replacing the clutch soon.
