I've had an indicated 160 mph on my clocks a couple of times now, with room for a little more (I think) if I pushed it.

Are the clocks accurate? Is this a realistict reading?

Also, I'd like more acceleration. Can you chip the GT3?

Does this wear the engine more? Should I leave it? Any other ideas bearing in mind I'm not rich and not doing track days!

Andy Whittaker's your man. check out:
www.andywhittaker.com/my_lotus_gt3.htm

He's world renown guru on the lotus ecu and ex-GT3 owner. Anything you want out of your ecu he can probably do for you.

As the GT3 uses the same basic engine as all the other 4 cylinder esprits (albeit in 2.0 litre rather than 2.2 litre config) most if not all the mods that the s4/S4s guys do are probably applicable to your car. E.g. ecu upgrades, cat removal, upgraded chargecooler, bov, sports exhausts etc.

Check out www.moto-concept.de for some other ideas.
Also, join up on the yahoo group for great discussion on modifications. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/UKLotusEsprit/

We've got several guys on there with VERY modified cars.

Cheers

The top end is supposed to be 164 (depends which car mag you read ofcause). No doubt, like all speedo's, it's a bit over confident on the reading, so maybe there would be a bit to go. Mind you, I ever been that fast so I've no idea
