the marks your refer to are a forging number and not a part number - all the Lotus Mahle pistons are from this forging - Lotus used 4 types. The GT3 pistons have a smaller bowl and a bronze coloured coating on the crown. The SE/S4/S4s have a dull silver chrome plating and a gudgeon pin that is 8mm longer than the early (85-89) HC pistons - that piston has no crown coating. The last type is the NA mahle that has only a very small dish to give 10,9 to 1 CR - no coating and the shorter pin.
