Well, can't really say that, but events of last night reminded me that I'll have to wait for warmer weather to really see if Marcus' Red Race chipset made a differernce in my '01 Esprit.

Weather here in RI has been abysmal - snowstorm after snowstorm and the temperature had, only yesterday, reached the 2-digit F range. With the highways essentially clear (finally) and reasonably dry, I thought it would be nice to take my Yellow Esprit out for the first time since the chips were installed (Thanks, Marcus, for the chips. Thanks, Johan, for the socket replacements and repair).

Warmed it up, took it very slowly on the streets and for the first 30 minutes on the highway - to warm up the tires, then ... was a bit more spirited with the throttle on the highway. Whether the cold (16deg F now) effects on the engine, tires, streets or a combination thereof, I could spin the tires with ease in 2nd, 3rd or 4th with only a partial jab on the gas pedal at any speed. Let's just say I didn't particularly enjoy this and was grateful to my track instructors from whom I learned spin recovery over the past few years.

Made it home safe and sound, put the Esprit in the garage, hooked up the battery tender and wished for better weather and for the day Michael Fridmann installs my Quaiffe.

Stay well all and thanks for the indulgence,

Paul

Hi Paul,
I´m glad you sorted out your chip installation problem.

Lets hope for nicer weather ... Here we also have huge amounts of snow half a meter high. Went out for snow digging already three times today ... Time to get a ski-doo for having at least some fun in that white-mess

Cheers
