that extruded foam rubber strip which helps seal the engine cover is torn in two corners a good 8 inches length. should i try and repair it by cleaning it well, then applying an adhesive rubber patch to the back? is the engine cover trim a lotus part, or something found at DIY stores?

I used this:

Seal, Engine Cover (top and bottom)
mcmastercarr.com
1120A412
Almost the same. Get about 20 ft.
Dr.Hess
Yes

From my cross reference database.

Just type that part number (1120A412) in the Find box on www.mcmaster.com/

Anyone have a good source for door seal?

Hi Dr Hess.. try Scotts Old Auto Rubber in Australia

www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/page28.jpg

Their prices are excellent!

I have samples of door seal PN 322.031 for my S3T and it gives a better seal than the OE.

Also check out PN

260.019 engine vent (right size but too hard) 2.2m reqd
260.095 window frame on doors (perfect fit) 3.5m
322.028 engine hatch (perfect fit) 3.8m
322.031 door seal (better than OE fit)7m

I am still looking for the hollow donut shaped boot lid cover seal, the one that is 1-inch wide by 3/4 -high. Any leads anyone. The OE lotus Part is well over $100!!

Hey Jan,
That door seal looks interesting. Ordering from Oz is kinda low on my priority list as the shipping would kill me, but I might be able to cross it to something on McMaster-Carr. The specs will be helpful. I wonder if the door seal if the same from the S3 to the Stevens? I never could find the window channel 260.* pictures. Their web site needs a bit of work. Thanks for the link.

Guys,

If your going to replace the door seals why not go for seals with fabric covers on trim? they look a lot better then the black rubber!
