SE fuel tank !
Discussion
Hi
Does any one know where I can get/buy a alloy or stainless fuel tank SE type right side in Europ ?
I think it's too expensive to buy a org. louts parts !
Does any one has a spare fuel pipe between fuel filer to plenum nozzle ?
Lotus has no more stock and they are not making it !
Also If any one has spare SE fuel pump
Please let me know
Thanks

I bought an aluminium tank from Geoff some two years ago, it is recommended.
However, take care to specify the exact diameters of all hose connections. I didn’t and ended up having a hard time getting the “rubber hose” onto the filler connection of the tank. I think there was a difference of two mm from my original tank and the “rubber hose” (bought locally) wasn’t flexible at all!!

As for the fuel pipe. W've been on to Lotus and have had it confirmed that the supplier and tooling have both gone. We now have Lotus looking into setting up a replacement part for owners.
Please email admin@lotusespritworld.com with your details, so we can pass them on to Lotus, who will contact you with regard to sorting out something for you, as getting the pipe back into production will take a little time.
Hopefully we can sort this problem out.

I don't understand what the problem is with the fuel line. It is just a piece of line with two ends on it, and the ends should be somewhat standard. Why not just get a hydraulic shop make you up a piece with those fittings? You could probably buy all the stuff yourself from the race shops, here anyway. I mean, you can get everything to make your own stainless braided Teflon brake hoses. They will certainly stand up to 60PSI. Or must you have the exact piece with a curley-Q in the middle?

A decent shop could probably re-use your existing fittings with some new hose. I had this done for an AC line on a MB 220D once. They used tractor hydraulic hose which looked identical to the OEM. Lasted longer than the rest of the car.
Just trying to give you some other options. You can try McMaster.com . They have about every fitting known. Or the race shops like pegasusautoracing.com

Sorry Dr.
I don't have the old one ! I'm upgradeing from Carb. to SE with Delco injection !
Thats the reason I'm looking for re-new with SE fuel tank, fuel pump .......

P.S I exchanged S4 type engine 2years ago, re-used old Carb. I have now almost all the parts to upgrade to SE

Oh. Well, rumor has it that fuel rail is the same as a 4 cylinder GM motor. Forget which one. But the fitting should be pretty common. Like I said, a decent hydraulic hose shop should not have any difficulty in fabbing one up if you bring them the rail, filter and tell them to make a hose that goes from here to here and is this long.
As for the fuel tank, why not just add a swirl pot with an external EFI fuel pump, such as from a Nissan 6 cylinder? Plenty of flow, compact externally mounted design and a mounting bracket. I am using one on my 7. Easy find at the junk yard. If I were doing what you are doing, that is how I would approach it, and not replace the fuel tank just to get an in-tank pump. You may have to fab the swirl pot or buy one pre-made, but I am sure it would be much cheaper than finding the Esprit fuel tank. There is also a way to plumb the fuel return line back without using the swirl pot. I think they just T it into the line right out of the tank. Search for people who change carb'ed cars to EFI.

May be I should reseach more her.
When I started it was no problem to get e.g return pipe and pipe between tank and filter from SJ or local (except that pipe !).
The reason I'm looking for new fuel tank is the right side tank has very bad condition (I replaced left side when engine was out), so I have to replace soon
but as you know the org. steel tank is Not the good quality as what's cost (I think).
Many thanks for all the advice !!
