Hi All

Can anyone tell me if there is a GM cross-reference (UK) for the Fuel Pump on a 89 SE? I have the pump out of the tank, the sock is in poor condition and I think the pump is well passed its best.

I want to change it but I cant see any indentification appart from a 4 digit number hand etched (by hand) onto the side of the pump.

Thanks,
Gareth

Fuel Pump

Confirmed: Yes

Edit: Forgot the strainer:
Fuel Pump Strainer (screen)
Carter (Federal-Mogul)
STS-9
Not exact, but fits
Source: Dr.Hess
Confirmed: Yes

Just make sure you "clock" the strainer, that is, point it at the depression in the tank, not the side.

if you've got a "common" vehicle that the pump cross references to, search on ebay for a "walbro" pump. They're dirt cheap (well under $100 US, i mean WELL) and work like nothing I've used before in other cars.. (they seem to make mounting adapters for most anything.. I've fit the same model pum in three different cars from different makes, mazda, mitsubishi, and nissan)...
