6 Pot Big Disc Front Caliper Conversion!!! & rears
Discussion
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have now completed the fitment of the prototype Hi-Spec 6 Piston Monster Brake Disc Kit from PNM Engineering. What a cracking piece of Kit. I have also done the PNM rear conversion to use the Brembo calipers and larger vented discs. The Front discs are now 323mm and the rears are 321mm. At this point I have only been out for a small drive but I am very pleased to report that even with brand new pads etc the stopping perforance is already superior to the standard set up. I can't wait to get them bedded in!!!!!! The full conversion has taken me a day and a bit to do and probably the hardest part of the conversion was getting the old stuff off the car. Alot of the bolts etc had seized after 16 years of road grime and copious amounts of WD40 and heat were required. The only other problem I've found is that when routing the handbrake cable to it's new location the Drivers side has seized a bit and I am having to order a new one. The outer sheaf has split and it's gone a bit rusty.
A long post I know but I think this a useful upgrade to the car and something the esprit has been lacking for a long time!!!

Alan,
Looks like you will have a little more front offset since the new rotor hat adds thickness between the hub and wheel. Do you notice any tire rubbing problems with the extra offset?
I can't believe the ammount of corrosion on all the UK Esprits that I see! My Esprit has none at all in this dry Colorado USA climate Only the fuel tanks rusted a bit.
I'm working on my own large brake design, Hopefully I have some progress to post here soon.
I went with 328mm x 35mm front rotors and 313mm x 25.4mm rear rotors.
Here is a 328x35mm front rotor on top of the original Toyota front rotor.
Here are the front and rear calipers

I have to use a seperate parking brake with my rears, because they don't work as parking brakes.
Let us know how you like your big brakes?

I wasn't worried about the extra offset as previously I was running 20mm spacers on the front anyway.
I think you all know the link to PNM Engineering but I am sure Pete would be happy to field any calls on the kit.
I did do aa few more pics so hopefully fairly soon will be able to do a write up for LEW.

I would assume so. Any of 17" to 18" wheels should fit without problems.
On a general note with the weather being kind at the mo I'm getting to use the car a bit. We bled the brakes again today and the pedal is now nice and hard.
With regards to the performance it is getting better every time I'm taking it out but the pads still arn't fully bedded in yet.
