If you want my SWAG, I would say that all fixed up, everything (mostly) works, nice paint, interior, in the US10K range. Start deducting from there. If it is truely a basket case, but everything is there and the body is straight, $3-5K.

S2s are worth peanuts in the sort of state you describe and will certainly cost more than they are worth to restore, you reall have to want to be a "savior" to it.

As for the Turbo there is a shedload of roadtests in Lotus Esprit World some of which I am sure featured this car; If it was red it was given away in a competition, if it was white they pitched it against a 308 Ferrari.

I just had a look to check but it seems a few of the links may be broken or duplicated, I wonder if Kato is reading this? Is it just me or is it like that for everyone?

Laid up for 15 years? If he doesn't pay you to take it away, then I'd probably start the bidding at £500.

It's gonna cost cost you around £15K to refurb it properly and by then you'd have a car worth approx £8k. Fantastic if you just want a project and will love it for ever and a day, but financial nightmare if you intend to make a profit.

Might be worth buying it to break to keep other early cars going? But only if there's enough of it left to make it worthwhile.

Heartbreaking decision. Good luck!

I notice the registration number of your old dry sumped Turbo Esprit was consecutively one away from James Bond's copper coloured Turbo Esprit in For Your Eyes Only - this was registration number OPW678W and is in a museum in the Scottsih Borders (used to be in Keswick)

Why did you sell yours ? - sounds like a piece of history.......
