Getting more legroom
Discussion
I made the mistake of buying an Esprit without sitting in one. The previous owner told me that her husband was the same height as me (6'4). I cannot get in this thing! I know that I saw something on the Forum describing how to move the seats to get more legroom. Can someone send me a link? I may have to replace the oem steering wheel with an aftermarket too. Any other suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. It's kinda funny when I think about it!
I tried some of the things on the link and I was finally able to at least get in the car However, the steering wheel was putting a hurt on my right leg. I may have to get a smaller diameter steering wheel, which sort of scares me not having an airbag and possibly a different seat. I'm between 6'4 and 6'4.5 and I must have passed the cutoff height of 6'3 that was the tallest.
Steve,
You can replace it with a smaller diameter airbag wheel.

It's about an inch smaller diameter and makes quite a difference.

Jim,
Thanks for the link. Are these still available and if so, what prcie are they now? I see that the original post date of this link is 2/2004. Where can I see pics and a description? Also, will this help solve the problem? I was looking at a Momo steering wheel that is 11 inches or 268 mm in diameter. I'm sure that the stock wheel has to be at least 13.8 inches in diameter.

Steve,
Here's a pic of Ernest's Raid "Daytona" wheel. It is 340 mm which is about 13 1/4" diameter. I believe the oem wheel is close to 15" in diameter.

The group buy pricing should still be available and I do have some adapters left for $180 including shipping.
Email me if you need more info.

Jim,
That pic of Ernest's car with the RAID looks REALLY sharp. It looks OEM! I have a two-tone beige and black which I really like, but I am going to have to sacrifice it for comfort. BTW, I measured the factory wheel and it is 15" exactly. Send me your info so I can order the wheel and hub.

I'll take a look at the RAID choices again to get a close enough match that I can be happy with.
Did anyone ever find out if anything smaller than the Daytona would work? I have a 1997 and it may work better for pre-1998. I would love to hear from some of you on this.
