You guys have been a great help. I think I've almost fixed my problems, now I'm trying to find where the main ground points should be in the car. Is there one that all the controls on the steering column grounds to?

Where are the other main ones, as my problems seem to be rooted in a bad ground somewhere on this fiberglass toy...

Looks like you got the points. But hey, when you check your grounds, also check that the "brades" are not coroded as well as the actual contact points. Spray a little WD40 (or whatever) on a rag and rub the brads - bending and flexing them just a little. The rag should be mostly clean (or at least not greenish in color) If they turn out to be green, remove them. If they are not bad, they can be soaked in machine oil and salvaged...
