i have an '84 turboEsprit, and would like to guess how many miles are left on my rear brake discs. anybody know offhand how thick they measure when new?

i hear the recommended discs are slightly overpriced.
what nonstock brake set would be a reasonably priced upgrade?

hi,

i have just replaced my rear pads although i did not measure them i would say they are approx 10mm thick when new. As for a disc upgrade you could go for turbo groove discs which i have found to be very good for the job, while you are doing that you could also put in greenstuff pads which will enhance your braking.

good luck

It's been a while since I checked the specs but I think they are 11mm and 10mm is the minimum. Not much to turn if they are scored.
