I know taht a few people have gone this route on their Esprits. I have looked for the kit mentioned by one of the members (KM who put one into his 2000 Esprit), but can't seem to find it anywhere. Over on SELOC, there is a group buy, but to get it to the US, the cost is approximately the same as it would be to buy one here and only includes a single headlight per side. The kit KM installed was as follows "the XR5006 kit provides four lights: two HID units with ballasts for low beam and two H1 Halogen units (with removable bulbs) for high beam. They are not standard in a generic sense however as all units are specifically designed and manufactured by Sylvania and are only designed to work as a pair or system. Also note that all units are polycarbonate lenses."

Any help?
Thanks,
Paul

Yup, kit is X5006 and I get the impression tha Sylvania has discontinued the kit. There are still some available and at a reduced price. Here's a link to a place where a fellow Esprit owner just purchased them:

When you get them in, drop me an email... I can send you some pix and verbage on installation. The Lucas frames need to be slightly increased on inner diameter and the use of some clear tubing acts as a spacer to ensure the lights are snuggly mounted. I also have an easier approach for mounting of the ballasts and the linking of the main/dip beam relays without using the large block of epoxy they send you. I've had them installed for over two years now and zero problems.

Any thoughts on their projector HIDs? Far more expensive, but at least their salesperson states substantial improvement in light

"Do you want the seal beam version or the projecter version 300% more light pattern"

Thanks again,
Paul
