I have an 88 esprit but it has no break lights.
It has backup.
Thefuses are all good

Check the Stop switch on pedal box !
I replaced my Espirt last year.
You can just connect the two cables and if light is Not on your problem is the switch. You can try clean it or replace the switch !

You can find the switch in Pedal box (end of break pedal)
