Here's an easy modification for infinately variable wipers instead of single speed. Swap the GM relay for the Volkswagon one with a built-in timer. Part number 357 955 531. To set, move wiper lever to intermittent for first wipe and off again. When screen needs another wipe just turn it on and leave it. Want to change the interval, repeat the procedure. As for Esprits before the S4, I don't know.

I tell you what would be a lot more handy and that's something that alters the number of wipes when you wash the windscreen. It's better on my 350, my every other Esprit I've had wipes the windscreen too many times when you wash it, after about 3 goes it nice and clean but by the time it stops it's a smeared mess again !

I think just about every car is afflicted by this, there should be some way of switching it off.

IIRC, my S3 worked better because you squirted with a push of the stick and then had to manually activate the wiper. No doubt so bright spark thought it was better to pull teh stick and have it all done for you, but it's not.
