hi all,

firstly thanks to Dr Hess got the reverse gear problem sorted.
O.k next dilema i am faced with is my cooling system, i have bleed the system up, let it cool down after running it and then letting the air escape from the bleed screw on the radiator. My orange warning light go`s off for a min or so and then comes back on. Also i have noticed the temperature gauge only goes one white line above the 40 mark, this was the same after a 5 mile run. The heater in the car is blowing hot air when i switch this onto hot.

any help please

many thanks

Pauli

what deg. C is the thermostat? might be a low temp one. unlikely if the heater is hot, not warm like mine was with a 72 deg stat in it.
my temp gauge reads roughly 10-15 deg C low, as does the oil temp.
also, my orange light came on a few times today funny enough, i cleaned the milky unused gunky water/screenwash out of the washer bottle, where the float level switch was sticking, and the light is fine now.
are you sure u have real coolant probs.?

ps. ive got/borrowed an infra-red non contact thermometer to check out things like hose temperatures in and out of radiators, oil coolers etc, and that really helped to set my mind at ease about fluid temps. also showed one rear hub/brake was getting to 80 deg C without using the brakes, when the others were 30 deg C after a short run, hence just sorted the seized brakes out! useful for tyre temperatures too. we use them at the racetrack all the time.
