The little oil filled radiator ...
Discussion
Hi,
Its part of the oil-cooling system, of course.
BTW, your V8 does NOT have a c/cooling system !!!
Only the 4-cylinder Esprits SE,S300,S4,S4s and GT3 have a c/cooler.
Cheers

I had to remove both front oil coolers on my 89SE early this year as part of restoration. On both sides the lower unions were corroded (being alloy coolers and plated steel unions) and sheared off the coolers despite a lot of care!
I tried all kind of places to get them fixed and even had some new alloy fittings made that could be welded back onto the coolers but in the end corrosion and weak plate-type construction made it impossible.
Eventualy had two new coolers (Got them from Lotus as price was about the same from the Manufacturer), but I had the pipe unions changed to Stainless steel ones so that I wont have the problem again!
Good luck!
