lift up reverse 88 stevens turbo
Discussion
hi all,
have a slight problem with the lift up on my car, as it no longer seems to be there, and as you may all know that when i now go into second gear it will sometimes miss and head for reverse insteed, and then comes that almighty crunch. Any help on this one?
Must also say i headed for the parts fair at stonleigh for the first time this year, and must say enjoyed it.
thanks
Pauli

The Dreaded Reverse Lockout Issue. Been there, done that. You need to:
Take the console out. Remove the rubber shift boot (if it still exists in more than crumbles), remove the shifter and lockout block. Replace the plastic button thing on the shifter. Build up the aluminum on the lockout block where the shifter has been chewing it up. I used a MIG, but others have used that propane solder type stuff for aluminum. Put it back together.
There might be a web site somewhere, I forget.
