Hi all,

I haven't posted for a very long time, obviously haven't had many Esprit problems for a while Although the cylinder head is now off on the S3 but that's another story!

In the mean time I've bought an S3 Turbo! The plan is to sort it out how I want it ready for the summer, so I may need some opinions soon on various mods I'm considering!

I'm currently trying to source a dump valve (whoooosh!) to suit the S3 Turbo (910), I read the Lotus Esprit World guide for the stevens engine, but I haven't got a chargecooler and perhaps you might know of one that suits my car better and hopefully have a photo or two of how to fit it!

Many thanks in advance!

CAM.

I myself have a 1989 non-SE. ( I have no idea what a true S3 is after I found out the ECU programming was changed in mid 1989.)I tried to find the Blowoff Valve like the "hard way" installed blowoff valve in the article, but no luck. Looking at the cross sectional shape though of the non-SE and the chargecooler piping I do not think that the hose clamped tee fitting will seal and you will need to install it the hard way, on to the air box itself. Am I wrong?

If anyone does find the blow off shown in the article, please tell me where it can be ordered.

To be honest I have no idea how to install one as I haven't got a chargecooler so I can't follow the guide step by step, I need a dummies guide to installing one! On any other car I'd have a go using my trial and error method, but on this I feel as though I'm playing with fire!

As an update, I spoken to the guys at PNM Engineering who supply the dump valve kit for the later Esprit's, they said they that have supplied one for an older Esprit, so I'll let you know the outcome.

Cheers,

CAM.
