Hi Gaz,

Been quite for a couple of weeks, had loads on.

In truth I still don't know. The engine is turning by hand, the oil is clear so both of those are good signs. What is very odd is that the starter motor has been stripped. This is really strange because the car started after it went wrong so not sure what is going on with that. Anyway, new starter is being fitted today I hope and so we can finally do a compression test and find out how bad it is.

I have tracked down a new head, both original or gas flowed, I have even tracked down a new engine if need be so at this stage, I think the bill will range from around 2k up to around 6k but not really certain.

Shame that it happened when it did as clearly there was a problem with the engine anyway but it would have been nice if it could have held out for the whole day! I'll be back on a track first chance I get.

If I do get it back soon, I was thinking of maybe doing a meet somewhere a bit north of London for a Christams drink iuf anyone fancies it.

Cheers

A

Thanks. Will update everyone on progress soon. New starter motor is ready so hopefully we will start her up on Monday and see how it goes. Should have a better idea then of what the damage is

Not yet! Starter motor in place so engine starts OK which is a good thing. Stripping the top off today but got a bit delayed cos the manifold bolts broke (not uncommon on an Esprit!) so the mechanic should have a final version today or more likely tomorrow.

I sooooo need a hoon at the moment!
