I just got a 99 "yellow" Esprit (drove it from St. Louis to Rhode
Island last weekend, wow what a drive!!). If I use the parking
brakes, sometimes the wheel sticks and the brake pedal is hard with
no movement, I have to play with the parking brake and brake pedal to
fix it. I can smell the brakes burning when this happens. Could this
be a bad cable? Sticky pad slider?? I'm not sure if it's sticking in
the front or back (I don't think the parking brakes go to the front?)

Also, how the F@#K do you use the power locks in the car. I know the
alarm locks both doors but there is no way of doing from the drivers
side, where is the switch??. I guess it's a concern since I'm lazy or
just don't get British methology.

PS I will be bringing the girl soon to the "Great" Mike at Michael's
MotorSports of Boston for her physical as soon as a get the time.

As far as the locks go, if its the same as my 94 S4, there is no manual switch inside to lock or unlock. The opposite lock should mimic what you do with the other. IE: lock your door, the otherside locks. Unlock your door, the otherside unlocks.

At the risk of stating the obvious.. are you actually taking the brake off correctly? You would not be the first to be confused by it.. (adrian yes i DO mean you..lol)

Yeah, I know how to use the Parking brake, I had a Corvette that had the same parking brake.

Looks like I need to put a switch in for the locks. I'm a "keep the doors locked" kind of guy.

ok, sorry.

Maybe a sticking caliper? Its common where the car does not get much use.

Why do you need to put a switch in? If you lock your door, they both should lock...

John,

On the V8's the passenger door does not lock when you manually lock the driver's door while in the car. At least from '99 on, not sure about the earlier ones.
