is there a clean way of removing the chrome front window trim on a g-type esprit? i'd like to remake them in carbon fiber, but need to measure all lengths and angles including those underneath. alternatively, can anyone please send me the exact dimensions from a spare part,. i intend to make the finished parts available to all. thanks.

It is almost impossible to remove the window trim
without destroying it. I am faced with that shortly
as I picked up a stone chip and cracked the
windshield of my '83 Esprit on our fall color
tour. I can send you the parts that are removed.
You might still find some use for them.

The pieces for the side are still available, the
top piece is not. The current alternatives are
to splice a top piece from two side pieces, or to use
the standard reveal that the glass companies have.

sorry about the stray stone. if you can wait, on the repair, i'll make you a set of trim in carbon fibre. send me the sides and a top trim, or usable substitutes, and we'll call it even. i just today made molds of the underside front scrape tray (that thing that always hits the pavement when exiting parking lots). i'm remaking them in kevlar, which will be practically unbreakable. you'd never be able to scrape through the fabric, unless you were driving on diamond street or tungsten carbide road. does your insurance coverage pay for the new window? best regards.
