of recent, i own a g-type esprit, and am puzzled by a round plastic protuberance beside the exit side of the left seat. dare i turn it? humorous answers gladly accepted.

In my experience plastic knobs are often refered to as dildos. Has the woman in your life mislaid her best friend?

If your car is white or brown and used to be owned by a certain James I would try the knob without running quicly far away in a desert place.
If not just try... if something falls down it will respect the Chapman advice 'Lighter is better'.
Let us know. I would be disappointed if it was only the sensor for the door-small lights.
