The S1 we are restoring has been painted and most mechanical bits in. Plus mods to keep the Engineer happy.

Went up to collect it yesterday to take it back to the Electrician to complete wiring.

Trim in progress.

While that is being done I am trying to get the electric lifters to work. The Jag ones don't seem very successful. Looking around the wreckers I might try a Nissan lifter mech.

Photo taken this morning.

Very nice. I would like to see additional pictures if you have them. I hope to own an S1 someday. as far as I am concerned, the earlier the better. I just think it is a really classic design.

Ok, I'll dig out some photos of progress.

Did you spot the S2 in the shadows?

The S1 is coming along steadily.

The S2 has just been given a major service. Runs smoother and leaks less oil. Thats less not no oil.

On the way back from Christchurch at Labour weekend it developed a miss that turned out to be a dodgy condensor. Repco is only a 5 min walk so cheaply and easily fixed. That prompted me to build a computerised ignition system which I have fitted, $75 from DSE

So you either ride one of those or ride a std road bike and follow? Sounds great anyway.

I am pouring a heap of time into triathlons and building up for the Taupo bike ride.

Anyway keep us posted on the S1.

I have a Penny Farthing or more correctly 'Ordinary cycle' (PF is a modern term)

It is a repro of an 1870's model a friend has.

Front wheel is 53 inch.

In case either of you two are interested I saw a Lotus Bike on ebay not long ago... sorry I did not get the url... it was a bit nice for my simple bike rides around the block...

Anyway, it came up under the LOTUS general search.

seen it just now. I would love to buy it. Partner said I already have just spent truck loads on a bike. So I am out of luck.
