"New" '01 Esprit - no "touch key"

Well,
Happily took delivery of my yellow 2001 Esprit at 5:15AM yesterday, pulled it into my driveway and went to work. Put 120 miles on it that afternoon and had it inspected at Michael's Motorsports in Wayland, MA. All looked good to Mike and I was ecstatic with it's performance. Later found out that I do not have the "Touch key" mentioned in the manual. Cna a new one be bought and programmed?

The answer is - you need to replace the entire security system. To their credit, the dealership from whom I purchased the car offered to provide a new system and I would have only to pay for installation. To me, a reasonably fair deal. The local (OK 60 miles away) dealership wasn't pleased about installing parts provided by someone else and will not guarantee the work, but is willing to do it.
Live and learn and if this is the only obstacle I face, I will be a very happy Lotus owner.
Looking forward to a few others in my area getting their Esprits (Christian - be careful driving it back this weekend).
