Esprit comfort for 6'5" driver?
Discussion
And you will have to try it on. Friend of mine from Iceland was about that tall and he always said he had to try on cars like pants. Dropping the seat and swapping roofs may be the way to go for you.
I am 6'0" and I fit. A friend here is 6'3 or 6'4 and he fit. In his NSX, he actually had more head room than I did, but then he is "all legs."

My best friend John is 6'5" and has a 1998 Esprit. We took off the seat rails bolting the set to the floor. We also removed the airbag steering wheel replacing it with a Momo that has a lightly flat bottom for more leg room. This steering wheel was attached to the hub adapter AND a 3 inch extension so his legs were comfortable. John also uses the glass roof for an extra inch or so. He fits fine!

It all depends on how much you weigh or where your weight is. I'm 6'2" and I have a buddy who is the exact same height but he weighs about 285lbs. I can fit into any car pretty much and he can't. His posterior takes about 6" of headroom even though we are the same height.
Guess it all depends on your build. I fit into the Esprit, but with a helmet I may have trouble. After all the car was designed around a guy who was 5'7" or so.

Depends on whether you're tall in the trunk or the legs. I'm 6'2" with about an even split. If I drive the car with the roof closed it is somewhat cramped (we have the standard roof). Even with the roof open my head rubs. As mentioned in an earlier post, the "glass" roof would provide some extra room. Our '84 Fiero actually fits me better. The '88 Corvette we sold for the Esprit was the best fit.

I am considering purchasing a 1988-on Lotus Esprit and was wondering if I would even fit in the car? I'm 6'5" and have a hard time fitting into most sports cars. Can anyone help? Thanks
I looked into this a couple of years back - i am 6'5.
It can be done, but the seat has to be bolted to the floor as others have said.
