too much boost?

hey
Can sombody tel me when they drive one the highway at a constant speed of 160/180 km/h with a little bit of trottle howmutch boost they have on the boost gauge?
i drive with a 1988 esprit with s4 engine but with carbs and chargecooling and emerald ignition

Hi Eric,
boost at 180 km/h with around 20-30% throttle opening should be somwhere below 0.5 bar

the boost controller you are selling can i fit it on my car? i need to reduse the boost at high speed with a little trottle opening,the engine i use is from a 95 esprit but with rejetted carbs,chargecooling and emerald ignition can u give me extra information ?

please explain to me first how boost contol is done on your engine currently:

- No active control (just wastegate capsule connected to turbo outlet)
OR
- already using an additional solenoid valve
OR
- ... ?

Ok,
to what mechanical boost pressure is your wastegate capsule set now ??? = at what pressure does your capsule begin to move ?

It begin to move at 0,8-0,9 bar i read on the gauge by full acceleration 0,9 bar the gauge is correct i tested
it with a vacuum -pressur tool by 0,9 bar the capsule on the turbo is almost completele open

I would suggest to set it to 0.6 bar bar mechanically via caspule and rod (=begins to open at 0.6 bar). For the higher boost regions 0,6-1.0 bar you should use a boost controller.
