Anyone know of an alternative source for a 907 starter motor? Mine seems to have gone south and I need a replacement. I am going to look for rebuild shops locally that could handle it, seems when I was little there were lots of them. I think nowadays it is more common to chunck it and buy a new one.

Ron,
You might try these guys. I recently bought one and it's a nice unit but I haven't installed it yet.

Might be okay, but I really shouldn't use it to fit the letter of the law. Nobody would care though, it isn't like a starter gives you a competitive advantage - unless it is more reliable than stock and you get on the grid more due to less breakdowns!!!
I'll check rebuilds first and see what pans out. Thanks for the tip!

Ron,
Take the starter to an automotive electric shop and have them check it out. I've had several rebuilt at a little local shop and they always have the parts in stock. "...yeah, it's just a Lucas. We do them all the time."
