I was just looking at that one!

Damn why cant these deals come along 2 months from now!

Im calling the guy but there is no answer.

The interior looks a bit shotty, would probably need a re-dye.

I thought the same thing. What does this year bring over lets say a 90 or 91? Is this price too cheap does it make anyone else think twice?

The 1993.5 offers the updated interior over the earlier SE. The seats are a bit wider and the AC controls supposedly workl better. It's like owning an Esprit S4 without the power steering.

I love the 93 model!! The V8 rims look amazing on it!!
There is no glass on the back as well, and I think the spoiler is a bit more raised. It just looks a bit more updated. I'd say its the best looking SE there is if you ask me.

I think it is priced correctly, but I am always skeptical of dealer inventory. I mean look, they dont mention any service records and say it seems fine "around town". What the hell do they know! Probably nothing!

I have a 93.5, black and tan. I actually prefer the Revolution wheels, but that is just me.

Mark is correct, the 93.5's are basically an S4 with a lower wing and smaller wheels/tires. Interior is S4; not sure about the shock/spring package. I assume it is SE since the wheels/tire size is SE.

This car is probably a good one, interior notwithstanding.

Odd

We don't get that variant over here. She has the non-leyland door handles, but SE bumpers and a higher SE spoiler - but as you say,an S4 interior. looks like a mix of parts unless you know it is a specific model (and a good one at that ). Now i know what you guys mean by a 93.5.
The UK crossover SE of that year would be the Highwing i guess.

Do i wanna cry though when i see that godawful airbag wheel on it, does it HAVE to be on that MY car?

Very Volvo.

no "high wings" in the US.

I think duing the trasition periods (SE - S4, S4s to V8, 97V8 to 98+ V8) there are cars that combine elements of both models. It's call evolution.

Luke.

Gazboy, actually, it is a 93.5 US version. Very rare bird, not sure how many of the 93's were highwings (UK) or 93.5 with a slightly larger than normal rear spoiler (US). Note that the 93.5s in the US have the black Revolution wheels, while I think the highwings have standard SE wheels. Why, I do not know.

I've done some research (since I own one) on the 93.5 US "subvariant" and learned quite a bit. What happened was that Lotus slowly changed over from the SE to the S4 in 93.

The first batch of 93.5s to go to the US (maybe twenty cars or so, most built in late 92) had window controls on the doors, but of a different type than S4s. They had the revised center console, seats, doors and othe rinterior bits that ended up in the S4.

The second batch of 93.5s (maybe another twenty cars) had the window controls on the center console. Not sure what other changes they may have had.

All US 93.5s had a slightly larger rear wing than an SE, plus the Revolution wheels. This was apparently some sort of tribute to Doc Bundy's SCCA winning X180R, which used similar, but three piece, racing wheels. As best I can tell, they came in three colors: white, black and red. I have seen two black 93.5s, two reds and one white for sale. This is the third red one I have seen, and has the most mileage (although mine, purchased at 22k, has 31k now).

I believe they have the S4 code in the ECU. They have the SE suspension as best I can tell, with the TMC brakes up front and the Renault LeCar ones on the back.

I love the car. Looks great, drives great.

Highly recommend them if you want an S4 without the wing halfway up the hatch.

Jeff,

I know of a silver 93.5 in Nashville Tennesse, belongs to the previous owner of my 89SE.

This red car on ebay actually is pretty near me, though I havn't seen it.
