My SE has an aftermarket smoked clear top made by a company that I cannot remember. They make lots of high-end tops for Porsche etc. I do not want it and want a flat roof panel, solid, as installed in most Esprits. I imagine that my original panel is stored in someone's garage somewhere, collecting dust.

Anyone have a source for a roof panel? Lotus is too high, at over $900. If someone wanted a clear one we might could trade this one. It has a liner attached to it, but I think it will come off with no damage to the top - I'll check to find out.

Any ideas or leads would be appreciated. I check on Ebay and have a standard search to alert me if one comes up, but I missed the last one up for auction when I was on a trip.

Thanks,
Ron

Hi,
How about a carbon fibre one?

I like mine. Easier to manhandle off the car and store without fear of braking it. The main reason i got mine though was to stop being cooked...

Lighter than the composite or glass ones, looks cool too. See LEW's shop: www.lotusespritworld.co.uk/Sale/shop.html

Ron:

My friend John Hooser has a solid panel roof from his silver 1998 V8 he may sell. Not sure if it will fit your SE though. You can e-mail him at JDHooser@Htc.net
