I have a jagged split of the bond located along the edge of the left rear wheel well. I plan on cleaning out the dammaged material and replacing it with fiberglass cloth. I plan to use epoxy instead of polyester for a stronger bond.
Does anyone have experience repairing these? Is there anything I should watch out for or do differently?

are you talking about the seam in the wheel lip? You can grind it out and fill it with "bondo hair" or similar product. Fiberglass cloth may be the technically superior way to make the repair but unless you are a pro and use the best resins it will wind up with air bubbles and just crack again
