Can Giugiaros cope?
Discussion
As posted previously, I'm having my '81 turbo restored to better than new condition. I expect to do some 'spirited' driving in it, what I want to know, can it cope as standard?
Is it worth uprating discs, calipers and dampers for a start? This isn't going to be a track car but will be driven hard and is travelling to Le Mans 2005 so will be at it's max in France. I'm sure Lotus equipped that car as well as could be done in '81 but we're talking 2 decades ago and things have moved on. Anyone got any opinions from experience e.g. brakes fading or engines overheating during hard work?
thanks!

If the car has been restored properly, even with standard components should not give trouble.
Upgrading the Pads will improve braking.
I drove my car (1980 S2) at Christmas sales time in Christchurch with temps in the mid 30s (that's celcius & summer time here) with no overheating problems, make sure the fuse for the fans is clean though.
Summers on the way here, 28deg today

I have an '83 Turbo Esprit that I tend to drive
pretty hard. It has been on several long-distance
trips, autocrosses, track days, and sprited drives
on the back roads of the upper midwest. I have
found that once sorted and with regular maintenance,
the more the car is used the better it is.

Hi Mike,
Welcome to Pistonheads. Look around and you will notice a lot of familiar names from the turboesprit list, plus many new ones. But the common thread is still the cars. You'll feel right at home here.
